In India we support Grace Charitable Trust, a small but hard working charity based in Masinagudi, Tamil Nadu.
Grace Charitable Trust supports tribal children who live in six remote villages within wildlife/nature reserve territory. Industry and work opportunities are severely restricted due to the protection of wildlife throughout the area. Parents often have to rely on government subsidies or on day labour, working long days for tea/coffee plantations. Many parents are illiterate due to their own lack of education.
Grace Charitable Trust provides financial support in the way of school fees, school uniforms and other classroom essentials. The trust also provides buses to safely transport the children to and from school. After school, the trust has built and maintains an education centre in each village so that the children have somewhere supervised to do their homework after school and play.
